The USD 350,000 Non-Refundable Contribution Route

Legal nature, economic character, family cost and open regulatory points of the lower-capital route.

Direct Answer

The USD 350,000 route is a non-refundable contribution by the principal applicant to Argentina's National Treasury. It is the lower capital commitment of the two announced mechanisms, involves no asset to hold or exit, and is economically a cost. It does not guarantee citizenship: the application remains subject to due diligence and the DNM's decision.

At a Glance

  • Amount: USD 350,000 (principal applicant)
  • Legal nature: non-refundable contribution
  • Recipient: National Treasury
  • Asset retained by the investor: none
  • Family members: USD 100,000 per spouse or eligible adult child; USD 25,000 per child under 18
  • Approval: not guaranteed; subject to due diligence and DNM decision

02

Legal and Economic Nature

The route was announced in October 2026 as a direct, non-refundable contribution to the National Treasury, within the framework of Decree 366/2025, which entrusts the Ministry of Economy with defining the investments that qualify as relevant.

A contribution is not an investment in the financial sense: there is no instrument, no yield, no maturity and no exit. For the applicant, it is the price of access to the citizenship pathway. Its main advantages are predictability of cost and the absence of market, credit or liquidity risk after payment.

03

When Is the Contribution Paid?

The moment at which the contribution must be made — at filing, after a favourable preliminary evaluation or before the final decision — has not yet been defined by the authorities. This point is material, because it determines the applicant's exposure if the application is not approved.

Until the operating rules are published, no funds should be transferred through intermediaries or unofficial channels. Payment should be made only through the official channel designated by the Government.

04

Is the Contribution Refundable?

The route has been officially described as non-refundable. Whether any refund would apply if an application is rejected before or after payment has not been addressed in the published framework and should not be assumed.

05

Total Family Cost

Illustrative totals under the contribution route, based on the announced family amounts:

  • Single applicant: USD 350,000
  • Applicant and spouse: USD 450,000
  • Applicant, spouse and two children under 18: USD 500,000
  • Applicant, spouse and one child aged 18–25: USD 550,000

These totals exclude government fees, professional fees, translations, apostilles and due diligence costs. See Family Applications.

06

Who May Consider This Route

The contribution route may suit applicants who prioritise a lower and fixed total commitment, prefer not to hold Argentine sovereign exposure, and value the simplicity of a one-time payment. Applicants who expect to recover their capital should evaluate the USD 800,000 public security route once its terms are published.

07

Source of Funds

The contribution must come from funds whose lawful origin and path to the paying account can be documented. Funds should ideally be transferred from an account held in the applicant's name at a regulated bank. Third-party payments, cash deposits and recent unexplained inflows require particular documentation. See Due Diligence.
